The Bands (updated 30th Septmebmer 2012)

The Vegas Years.  An indie, rock and blues covers band from Hindley.
Gary, Paul, Keivn and Steve should really be called The Vegas Years (Nothing to do with Elvis).
It is purely a metaphor for being passed our best as we embrace the joys of middle age.
This is a transcript of a conversation we had with a drunk man in Coppull when we played there recently;
Drunk man (DM): “We expected Elvis and all that, like”
Gary: “No Elvis tunes here Pal, the poster says indie, rock and blues if you choose to read it”
DM: “But Elvis and, you know”
Steve: “If you look here Mate (points) indie, rock and blues, just there..”
DM: “Where??..”
Paul: “There under where is says Vegas Years…”
Kev: “There mate, look, indie – rock and blues..”
DM: “But Elvis y’know, that’s what it says… Vegas”
Gary: “Nothing to do with Elvis Pal” (points at the words indie, rock and blues)
Kevin: “Just there Pal”
DM: “But, y’know, Elvis…”
Repeat for about 10 minutes, you get the picture??

Starting out as an acoustic/recording project, Jackson-Hewitt are now a fully fledged 4 piece based from the Northwest.
The line up is Ian Hewitt-Lead Vocals/acoustic guitar, Jay Brown-Bass Guitar/backing vocals,
Mark Fleetwood-Lead Guitar/backing vocals and William Franics Basford (Fred)-Drums.
Playing their own original songs, their sound of music varies from stripped back numbers to full on rock.
When asked how to classify their music they said “If you pigeon hole a band, you alienate it”

Jackson Hewitt released  “Dugdales Flowers” in 2010, have played a number of festivals all over the UK & have been on music radio stations on both sides of the Atlantic.
Their Christmas 2011 single release “Was Christmas Born in England” was well received by both UK and U.S.Radio Stations.

Andy Rudd is founder member of “Johnny the Fox” and former member of “Xentrix” and “Kingdom of Dead Men
He has recorded and toured extensively in England, Europe  and Canada since the late 80’s.
If Ruddy can’t play it, it’s not worth playing!
